This role suits an experienced/qualified sewing machinist.
Responsible for producing high-quality sewn products, using industrial sewing machines and related equipment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to meeting production schedules and quality standards.
The machinist plays a key role in creating custom-made products such as covers, awnings, tarps, shades, and other textile-based items used across various industries.
- Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble, join, hem, or repair textile products.
- Interpret work orders, design patterns, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Select appropriate materials, threads, needles, and machine settings for each job.
- Measure, cut, and align fabric to meet design specifications.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality, durability, and compliance with company standards.
- Maintain equipment by performing regular cleaning, minor repairs, and troubleshooting.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and output targets.
- Follow workplace health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Record production activities, materials used, and job completion data accurately.
- Assist with inventory control of fabrics, threads, and other materials.
- Suggest improvements to sewing techniques, processes, and workflow efficiency.
