About the Role:
Sydney Deck Sealing & CLT Coatings Australia is a leading provider of high quality protective and decorative coating solutions, specialising in residential as well as architectural and infrastructure projects. We are currently looking for a full time painter with specific experience in staining and varnishing to join our team. We are also open to an apprenticeship for a motivated candidate ready to learn a specialised area of the trade.
Job Description:
Site Preparation & Safety: Inspect job sites for hazards and prepare equipment daily to ensure a zero incident workplace.
High Standard Surface Prep:
Prepare timber surfaces using a variety of sanding machines and hand finishing techniques to an appearance grade
Precision Application:
Meticulously apply stains, sealers and other protective coatings to internal and external flooring and CLT walls, floors and ceilings.
Quality:
Perform denibbing between coats to ensure a smooth, commercial grade finish
Care:
Ability to check for/and identify and report hazards, maintain a clean job site and tools daily.
You Will Need:
Physical Fitness: Ability to work comfortably from ladders and scaffolding and hold wall sanders for extended periods.
Compliance & Travel:
A valid White Card, a driver’s license and your own vehicle. Our projects are primarily based across Sydney but we also travel to Vic, QLD and the ACT.
Technical Knowledge:
An understanding of solvent, oil and water based coatings and their specific application requirements.
Professional Mindset:
Strong problem solving skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred and you must provide evidence of past work in this field and at least 2 referrals.
