THE ROLE:
This is a 12-month non-ongoing opportunity to join Austrade’s Website and Digital Direct Mail (DDM) team, which is part of Austrade’s Communications, Marketing and Engagement division.
The Websites and DDM team is responsible for Austrade’s promotional external client facing websites www.austrade.gov.au, www.international.austrade.gov.au, www.tra.gov.au, www.brandaustralia.com, www.exportawards.gov.au and the organisation’s capability to send targeted digital direct mail (DDM) communications to our various audiences.
The Website Content Designer actively contributes to the development and up-keep of content in our websites and works continuously to refine and improve of Austrade’s current digital suite.
Adopting a human centred design approach, the role includes design (usability and UX), development, implementation, and maintenance of our external facing websites.
Website analytics and insights reporting is also a key part of this role.
Experience working with digital direct mail platforms and a working knowledge of the intersection and user pathways between DDM and websites is highly desirable.

Duties Include:
- Support and deliver high-quality digital products
- Support the Websites Manager on content management platform migration to GovCMS, including content migration, testing and team upskill/training.
- Communicate with, and provide advice to, a range of clients and provide timely services to a high level of quality
- Author and publish website content using the content management system following government and departmental standards
- Lead administrative and site management tasks, including occasional triage of work
- Training staff to use GovCMS and AI upskill.
While we are aware people will utilise AI tools to assist with job applications, we need to see the candidate’s authentic responses to help us make a true assessment of the applicants applying.
