Job Description:
Occupational Therapist - Grade 2 Sub-acute
Be part of our supportive and collaborative Occupational Therapy team
Fixed-term parental leave backfill (12 months, 32 hours), until May 2027
Based at Royal Park Campus in sub-acute services
About the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH):
RMH part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
The Sub-Acute service at RMH is committed to delivering exceptional patient care in the community. In this role, you will provide clinical assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for patients in the RMH@home program. You will be well supported by a Grade 4 Clinical Leader, experienced senior clinicians and the Occupational Therapy Manager.
About the role:
Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients in sub-acute services
Supervise and educate junior occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students
Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership
Actively lead and participate in Allied Health quality improvement initiatives and research
About you:
You have hospital experience with a collaborative working style
You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others.
You are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist dedicated to providing evidence-based practice
You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
