In this temporary part-time opportunity, you'll contribute to the smooth operation of laboratory services at Redland Hospital by performing a range of pre-analytical duties, including specimen reception, data entry, sample processing and phlebotomy. You'll work as part of a dedicated team committed to providing safe, efficient and customer-focused pathology services.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
Knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations, pathology test names and specimen types.
Availability to work all shifts on the existing and future roster patterns, ability to undertake additional shifts to backfill holiday and sick leave.
A working knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn, all aspects of pre analytical specimen processing (CSR). Data entry skills and the use of MS Word and Excel a distinct advantage.
Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner with and without supervision, ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines, ability to effectively use, or quickly acquire ability to use, the Laboratory Information System.
An established history of positive teamwork and respectful behaviour. High level of interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective, cooperative interaction within a work group and between clients.
