We're looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join our Newcastle team on a full-time basis, supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex Class 2 residential projects across NSW.

THE ROLE
As a Site Engineer, you'll support the day-to-day delivery of construction residential projects, helping ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, budgets, and relevant standards.
Working closely with contractors, consultants, clients, site teams, and other project stakeholders, you'll provide technical engineering support, coordinate construction activities, monitor progress, and assist in resolving engineering and project delivery issues.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be a motivated and technically capable Site Engineer with strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills. You'll have a sound understanding of engineering principles and construction methods, with the ability to interpret technical information and provide practical solutions on site.
You'll hold a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Engineering and have previous experience working across engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of Australian engineering standards, construction requirements, and workplace health and safety practices will be highly regarded.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning construction activities and identifying appropriate materials, construction methods, and quality standards.
- Reading, preparing, and interpreting engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Coordinating site workers, construction materials, equipment, and day-to-day site activities.
- Arranging and reviewing soil and rock testing to assess ground conditions and determine appropriate foundation and loading requirements.
- Reviewing project drawings and specifications to prepare cost estimates and support project budget control.
- Monitoring design changes and assessing their potential impact on project costs, construction requirements, and timelines.
- Measuring, assessing, and assisting with variations to construction designs and works where required.
- Providing technical engineering support to site teams and assisting with the resolution of construction issues.
- Analysing structures to assess their ability to safely withstand different loads and forces.
- Assisting with the design and assessment of structures to ensure they are safe, stable, and suitable for their intended purpose.
- Monitoring construction progress and conducting site inspections to ensure works comply with approved plans, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Working closely with contractors, consultants, clients, and project teams to identify and resolve construction and engineering issues.
- Preparing engineering reports, project documentation, and progress updates as required.
- Ensuring engineering and construction activities comply with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
