Job Summary
Griffith University is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support for staff, students, and researchers across multiple campuses. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable IT systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting digital learning technologies to ensure efficient university operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-level technical support for hardware, software, networks, and IT services.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, mobile devices, user accounts, and business applications.
- Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, Wi-Fi, VPN, and cloud-based technologies.
- Assist with classroom technology, learning management systems (LMS), video conferencing, and multimedia equipment.
- Monitor and resolve IT incidents using the service management system while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, including user access, endpoint protection, and security compliance.
- Participate in system upgrades, software deployments, and IT improvement projects.
- Deliver professional, customer-focused support while collaborating with academic, administrative, and research teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience in IT support, service desk, or desktop support is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, cloud technologies, and IT service management tools.
- Experience supporting learning management systems or higher education environments is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide support in a multi-campus environment.
