Shepparton Pumps and Irrigation is a well-established local business servicing the greater Shepparton region. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscaper with irrigation expertise to join our growing team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on role covering all aspects of landscaping and irrigation installation and maintenance, suited to someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys variety on the job.
General Landscaping Duties
Planting, mulching, edging, and garden bed preparation
Site preparation including excavation and earthworks
Retaining wall construction and installation
Paving, concreting, and hard landscaping works
Drainage installation and management
Operation of machinery including bobcats, excavators, and other equipment
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised worksite
Liaising with clients in a professional and courteous manner
Irrigation Installation & Maintenance Duties
Installation of residential and commercial irrigation systems
Installation of drip, spray, and subsurface irrigation systems
Controller/timer programming and setup
Fault finding, troubleshooting, and repair of existing irrigation systems
Pipe laying, trenching, and connection of mains water and pump systems
Pump installation, commissioning, and servicing
Seasonal system checks, adjustments, and maintenance
Water pressure testing and flow rate assessment
Accurate documentation of installed systems and maintenance records
Hydroseeding Duties
Preparation and application of hydroseeding slurry mixes
Site preparation including grading and cultivation prior to seeding
Calibration and operation of hydroseeding machinery and equipment
Post-application irrigation scheduling to support germination and establishment
Monitoring of establishment progress and follow-up applications as required
Application of erosion control measures in conjunction with hydroseeding
Compliance with product withholding periods and chemical application guidelines
Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
Valid Australian driver's licence (required)
Construction Induction (White Card) (preferred)
Machinery tickets – bobcat, excavator, or similar (preferred)
Demonstrated experience in landscaping and irrigation installation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and workmanship
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying conditions
What We Offer
$70,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience)
