Kick start your career in sports turf management with Green by Nature and gain hands-on experience maintaining some of Canberra's premier sporting facilities.
This four-year apprenticeship combines paid practical training with a nationally recognised qualification, giving you the skills, knowledge and confidence to build a long-term career in the industry. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll learn how to maintain elite playing surfaces, including cricket wickets, AFL, rugby and soccer fields that host community and competitive sport throughout the year.
By the end of your apprenticeship, you'll be equipped with the practical skills and industry knowledge to progress into roles such as Team Leader, Supervisor or Site Manager.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll develop practical skills in:

Irrigation system installation, operation and maintenance

Safe operation of turf machinery and equipment

Soil management and plant nutrition practices

Pest, weed and disease identification and control

Workplace health, safety and environmental practices
No previous sports turf experience is required. We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work and is eager to learn a skilled trade.

You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident and meet eligibility requirements for the apprenticeship and training program.
