Position: Experienced Barista
As part of our Front of House team, you’ll be the friendly face of Durk’s Cafe, ensuring every customer has an unforgettable experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving a wide range of specialty coffees and beverages
- Maintaining consistency and high quality in every cup
- Producing clean and professional latte art
- Dialling in coffee and maintaining extraction consistency throughout service
- Engaging with customers, taking orders, and providing excellent customer service
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the coffee preparation area
- Collaborating with the team to create seasonal coffee offerings and improve service flow
- Greeting customers with a warm and welcoming demeanour
- Operating the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining a clean and tidy café environment
- Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista in a fast-paced café environment is essential
- Confidence in milk texturing and latte art
- Passion for coffee, hospitality, and customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required
- Positive attitude with a strong team-player mentality
