About the Role
We’re seeking a Support Specialist Tutor to deliver high-impact, evidence-based intervention sessions. This remote role offers flexible scheduling, with desired availability between 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM weekdays. Optional morning (7:00 AM – 8:30 AM) and weekend (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM) hours are available. A minimum commitment of 10-15 hours per week is highly regarded.
This position is ideal for:
Teachers, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, Speech Pathologists, or individuals qualified to work with children facing neurodivergent and developmental needs.
Prerequisites & Requirements
- Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Allied Health, or a related field
- Clinical Experience: Experience working with diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD (Autism), and developmental delays
- Experience Level: Minimum 2 years of experience in education, therapy, tutoring, or child-focused support
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured, individualised one-on-one sessions to children.
- Implement phonics-based, multi-sensory instructional approaches grounded in the Science of Reading to support children in achieving developmental milestones.
- Provide intensive intervention for students requiring Tier 3 support within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
- Differentiate and adapt sessions to align with each student’s unique learning profile, strengths, and needs.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with families and the broader team.
- Keep accurate records and contribute to collaborative goal-setting and ongoing support planning.
What You’ll Need
✔ Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma
✔ Demonstrated experience working with children diagnosed with ADHD, ASD, or developmental delays
✔ Experience in literacy intervention (or willingness to complete our training)
✔ Strong communication and rapport-building skills
✔ A genuine passion for working with children with learning differences
Highly Regarded
- Knowledge of phonics, multi-sensory learning, and Science of Reading frameworks
- Experience in Tier 3 intervention (MTSS)
Hours & Flexibility
- Weekdays: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
