About the Role
The Rig Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, testing, inspection, and commissioning of all electrical equipment and systems on the rig, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical work in compliance with legislation, industry standards, and Savanna policies
- Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on rig electrical systems and equipment
- Interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation to perform tasks accurately
- Diagnose, repair, and install electrical wiring, control systems, motors, and communication equipment
- Maintain and test circuit protection devices, including circuit breakers and RCDs
- Maintain inventory of parts and tools, and ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting
- Complete required documentation such as timesheets, maintenance logs, and safety reports
- Stay current with changes in industry regulations and maintain work within trade qualification
About You:
- Hold a trade qualification as an Electrician
- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry (highly regarded)
- Comfortable working outdoors and in remote locations
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Able to follow instructions, work safely, and pay attention to detail
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and quality assurance
- Hold a current C Class (car) driver’s licence
- Full Australian working rights
