Carey Baptist College is seeking a Management Accountant to join our Shared Services team in a newly created role that sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and organisational decision-making.
This is far more than a traditional accounting position. You'll work closely with our Executive Manager Business Services, Financial Accountant and Shared Service Leads to provide financial analysis, forecasting, and business insights to the Council and Board that will help shape the future of the College. From student enrolment trends and workforce planning through to major capital projects and long-term financial sustainability, your work will influence decisions that have a lasting impact on our students, staff, and community.

What You Will Bring
•
A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
•
CA or CPA qualification (or actively working towards completion).
•
Experience in management accounting, financial accounting, or a senior assistant accountant role.
•
Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
•
Advanced Microsoft Excel capability and confidence working with complex financial systems.
•
The ability to communicate financial information in a way that is clear, practical, and meaningful for non-financial stakeholders.
•
A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
•
A desire to contribute to a Christ-centred organisation and support the mission and values of the College.
What You'll Be Doing
•
Supporting long-term financial forecasting and strategic planning.
•
Developing financial models and scenario analysis to support key organisational decisions.
•
Assisting with annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.
•
Preparing management reports, financial commentary, and executive dashboards.
•
Analysing operational and financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
•
Supporting the financial governance of major capital projects.
•
Developing business intelligence and reporting tools that improve visibility and decision-making.
•
Assisting with government funding analysis, compliance reporting, and external reporting requirements.
•
Partnering with leaders across the College to provide financial insights that support educational excellence.
