Position Summary
The Roof Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing roof drainage
systems, rainwater goods, flashings, and associated roofing components for residential and
commercial building projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Install gutters, downpipes, flashings, roof sheeting, and rainwater disposal systems.
- Measure, fabricate, and fit sheet metal roofing components.
- Ensure roofing and drainage systems comply with relevant Australian Standards and Building Codes.
- Conduct inspections and identify roofing defects and water ingress issues.
- Repair and replace damaged roof plumbing components.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Work at heights in accordance with safety requirements.
- Coordinate with builders, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure project completion.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works and materials used.
- Comply with company WHS policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Relevant trade qualification, such as an AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV in roof plumbing or a related trade.
- Alternatively, at least three years of relevant hands-on industry experience may be accepted in place of formal qualifications.
Skills & Requirements:
- Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing flashing, metallic roof sheeting, gutters, downpipes, and rainwater piping.
- Ability to read blueprints to determine layout for roof plumbing and drainage systems.
- Proficiency in using specialized plumbing tools, welding, and soldering equipment safely at heights.
- Strict adherence to site safety protocols and working-at-heights regulations.
Pay: $79,500.00 – $90,000.00 per year
