About You:
- You are an experienced IT lawyer and have the ability to provide legal advice and support (ie. advisory, commercial and disputes) for IT and general commercial legal matters across business units and corporate functions, engaging external legal services where appropriate
- You have the ability to identify and support the business to understand, legal, compliance and regulatory risks and obligations relevant to or associated with IT law and supporting the business to mitigate risks and manage/operate in compliance with those obligations
- You have experience staying abreast of legal, compliance and regulatory developments relating to IT law and preparing or contributing to alerts or other informational content for the business
- You have knowledge of the IT legal and regulatory landscape in Australia (and other jurisdictions, as applicable) in relation to IT obligations that might affect the business
- You have excellent contract, transactional and general commercial legal skills
- You have the ability to engage, influence and maintain strong working relationships with a number of stakeholders both internally and externally. You collaborate, consult and work towards best outcomes aligned with business principles
- You are responsive and attend to matters in a responsive and efficient manner and help drive timely execution and resolution of outcomes.
- You are experienced in managing competing priorities and demanding workflow
- You have the ability to take responsibility and ownership of legal matters, ensuring completion and the provision of efficient, timely and high-quality legal advice and support with respect to the business
- You have the ability to add value in assisting the business to achieve better outcomes by maximising business potential and minimising business risk
- You have experience critically analysing issues, establishing and executing plans and proactively problem-solving. You are able to make sound judgment calls, balancing risk and commercial objectives, including the ability to identify when matters need to be escalated
- You have the ability to advise commercially, be a critical thinker and make recommendations to a business
- You are a calm, confident, composed and professional with the ability to communicate clearly and listen closely
- You are proactive, take initiative and are solutions-focussed
- You are adaptable and flexible, resilient, reliable, trustworthy, act with integrity and are honest and transparent
- You have the ability to hit the ground running, bring sharp commercial instincts and adapt quickly to the needs of a fast-moving in-house environment
- You have a minimum of 8 years' experience
- You have the ability to understand and adapt to the needs of the organisation
- You have a current practising certificate
- You have the right to live and work in Australia
