We Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team supporting a participant with complex and specific support needs.
We are looking for someone who is more than just a support worker — we need a positive male role model who is passionate about empowering men, building confidence, and inspiring participants to work towards their goals and live meaningful lives.
This role requires a support worker who is trauma-informed, emotionally intelligent, and has a strong understanding of mental health and behaviour support.
About You
You will ideally be someone who:
- Has a strong understanding of trauma-informed care
- Has knowledge and experience supporting people with mental health challenges
- Can build trust, rapport, and safe therapeutic relationships
- Is confident in following Behaviour Support Plans and implementing strategies consistently
- Is calm, patient, and able to respond appropriately in challenging situations
- Is passionate about helping men build independence, resilience, and self-worth
Highly Desired
The participant has expressed a preference for someone of Māori or Indigenous background, who would be willing to share culture, connection, and lived experiences as part of support.

Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current National Police Check
- Reliable vehicle
- Full comprehensive car insurance
- Current driver’s licence
- First Aid & CPR (preferred)
- Relevant industry experience (highly regarded)
