About the opportunity
As our Retail Postal Leader, you’ll be leading an established team at the local Post Office and play an important part in helping Australians service their own businesses, keeping millions of people connected and building community resilience.
Every year around one million customers walk into one of Australia Post’s 4,400 Post Offices. It’s our retail teams who make sure that every experience they have is a great one. And while they do, they’re supported by a welcoming team, take part in ongoing training, and are guided on career development opportunities.
You'll professionally manage the retail outlet to meet the commercial and customer objectives of Australia Post. The successful candidate will apply effective business management skills and practices to maximise sales opportunities, improve profitability, productivity, and team engagement, grow revenue, and provide consistently high standards of customer service.
What's on Offer
- Salary $90,082 + 12% superannuation (FTE)
- 6 Months Fixed Term role
- Monday to Friday 8.45am-5.06pm

You’ll be
- Leading a team and instrumental in equipping them to meet financial and service targets.
- Performing customer sales and service transactions, setting a high bar for your team through a collaborative approach to relationship building with customers, understanding and delivering on their needs.
- Committed to building and developing your team, while ensuring all business activities meet current compliance and legal requirements.
About you
- You’re friendly, enthusiastic and reliable and you love working in a team environment.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in effectively leading a team
- You’re ready to put the customer at the centre of everything you do to help make a difference in the community.
- Extensive knowledge of retail operations and processes, products, and services.
- Demonstrated ability to establish a collaborative working relationship with customers.
- Evidence of having skills to lead and facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace.
- Proven ability to develop the skills and expertise of team members.
- Experience in a similar customer-facing role which required effective and efficient resolution of customer complaints.
- Demonstrated business and commercial management skills with the ability to analyse actual performance and to implement strategies to improve business operations.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff within the organisation.
- A strong understanding of financial management and planning and therein the ability to grow profitable revenue ensuring better returns on investment.
