Disability Support Worker Location: Albury NSW
Rehoboth is seeking experienced and culturally aware Disability Support Workers to provide on-site support services to a male Aboriginal NDIS participant residing in Albury.
About the participant
The participant is a 43-year-old Aboriginal man living with complex and intersecting disabilities. He requires consistent, trauma-informed support to maintain stability, safety, and wellbeing in the community. The participant is supported by an established multidisciplinary team and the role works closely alongside his Allied Health Team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver respectful, person-centred support aligned with the participant's NDIS goals and Behaviour Support Plan
- Assist with daily living tasks including meal preparation, household duties, and personal hygiene prompting
- Provide medication prompting and support engagement with medical and allied health appointments
- Provide transport and community access support for appointments, cultural engagements, and social activities
- Promote independence, social connection, and harm reduction
- Maintain accurate progress notes and complete incident reports in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards
- Collaborate effectively with the participant's multidisciplinary team
Essential criteria
- Demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex disability, mental health, or substance use related needs
- Sound understanding of trauma-informed practice and cultural safety when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and professional boundary-setting skills
