TOPEX Trading Pty Ltd is an Australian trading and online distribution business specialising in home improvement, garden and outdoor living products. Due to the continued growth of our product range and supply network, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to manage our procurement function, supplier relationships and purchasing strategies.
About the Role
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the company’s procurement activities across our product categories. The role will involve supplier sourcing, purchasing planning, procurement cost control and coordination with internal teams to support business operation.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies to support the company’s product supply, pricing and business growth objectives;
- Reviewing supplier quotations, pricing structures, delivery terms, minimum order quantities and payment terms to achieve commercially competitive purchasing outcomes;
- Negotiating with suppliers regarding product cost, quality standards, lead times, order quantities, warranty arrangements and delivery requirements;
- Preparing and managing purchasing plans based on sales trends, stock movement, product demand, seasonal requirements and business forecasts;
- Coordinating purchase orders, supplier invoices, shipping documentation and procurement records to ensure accurate and timely purchasing transactions;
- Identifying new product opportunities, alternative suppliers and cost-saving initiatives to improve the company’s product range and supply chain efficiency;
- Reviewing procurement procedures and internal purchasing controls to improve accuracy, cost control and operational efficiency;
- Maintaining procurement records and supplier databases, including purchase history, pricing information, lead times and supplier terms;
Skills and Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in business, supply chain management or a related field;At least two years relevant procurement or purchasing management experience;
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier pricing, delivery terms and quality requirements;
- Sound understanding of purchasing processes, stock replenishment, supplier evaluation and procurement cost control;
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with suppliers, freight providers, warehouse staff, sales teams and senior management;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inventory systems, purchasing software management systems.
