About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Part-Time Finance Manager to join Prime 1 Care in a key finance leadership role, with the opportunity to grow into a broader CFO-level position as the business expands.
This role will work closely with the business owners to provide financial visibility, improve processes, and support better decision-making across the organisation.
You will work alongside our existing bookkeeper, providing financial oversight, analysis, reporting, and strategic support.
Given the nature of our business, previous experience working within the NDIS sector is required. You will understand the financial, operational, and reporting requirements of an NDIS-focused organisation and be confident supporting financial decision-making in this environment.
This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys being hands-on, understands small-to-medium business operations, and wants to make a meaningful impact in a growing care-based business.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and oversee bookkeeping and financial processes.
- Prepare monthly management reports and financial insights.
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Analyse revenue, costs, margins, and business performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Improve financial systems, reporting, and controls.
- Work with external accountants and advisors.
- Provide financial advice and recommendations to business owners.
- Support business growth decisions through accurate financial information.
- Ensure finance processes support the operational needs of an NDIS business.
- Assist with financial reporting, funding analysis, and service-related performance insights.
About You
You will be a proactive finance professional who can work independently and take ownership of the finance function.
You will have:
- Previous experience working within the NDIS sector.
- Experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Senior Accountant, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and cash flow management.
- Commercial experience in a small-to-medium business environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence communicating with business owners and stakeholders.
- Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB, or similar.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to improve processes.
- An understanding of NDIS-related financial processes, funding, claims, budgets, or service delivery reporting.
What We Offer
- Flexible part-time role, 2 days per week.
- Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a growing business.
- Direct access to business leadership.
- Opportunity to develop into a future CFO role.
- A role focused on improving the business, not just producing reports.
- The opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven organisation supporting NDIS participants.
