We are seeking passionate, enthusiastic and motivated Educators who share our commitment to child safety and are excited to help create a positive OSHC experience for children attending Yowie Bay Public School.
The Role
Reporting to the Centre Coordinator and Area Manager, Educators will:
- Support the delivery of a fun, engaging and meaningful program for primary-aged children
- Supervise and actively engage with children during play and learning experiences
- Facilitate sports, games, creative activities and group experiences
- Ensure a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for children, families and staff
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, school staff and the community
- Assist with program planning and activity preparation
- Maintain clean and safe learning environments
- Model professional behaviour and appropriate boundaries with children at all times
Shifts are available Monday–Friday:
- Before School Care: 7:00am – 9:00am
- After School Care: 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Additional hours may be available during vacation care.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Working With Children Check (Employee) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training (or willingness to obtain)
- Child Protection training/certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Mandatory Child Safety Training (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children or within a children’s service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A demonstrated commitment to child safety, professional conduct and appropriate boundaries
Desirable Skills
- Previous OSHC experience
- Experience using Xplor or similar childcare management software
- Experience delivering sports, games or recreational activities
- Experience preparing and serving food in a children’s service
Working With Children
This role involves direct and regular engagement with primary school-aged children in an education and care setting. Educators are responsible for providing active supervision, supporting children’s wellbeing and development, and maintaining safe, respectful and professional relationships with children at all times.
All staff must demonstrate the ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries, follow child protection procedures, and act in accordance with the Adventure OSHC Child Safe Code of Conduct and relevant child protection legislation.
