About the opportunity: / What you will be doing:
Are you an experienced Civil Design Engineer looking to make a real impact?
Join our team and help deliver high-quality transport and drainage infrastructure that supports the growth and livability of our community.
In this key role, you'll undertake complex civil design for roads, drainage and associated infrastructure, preparing detailed designs, specifications and cost estimates while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and Council requirements. You'll provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members, review design quality, support continuous improvement, and contribute to the successful delivery of Council's capital works program.
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external consultants and the community, you'll help deliver infrastructure that benefits our region for years to come.
To succeed in this position, you will meet the following criteria:
- Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in civil design (road and drainage) including quantity calculations, estimating, drafting and CAD applications.
- High level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in mentoring or supporting other team members.
- Solid working knowledge of PC Applications Software, Plan/Diagrammatic Interpretations, Pollution Control, Engineering /Surveying, Hydrology and Flooding/Water Quality and Urban Design.
- Understanding of relevant acts and legislation including Local Government Act, Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Roads Act.
- Ability to plan and prioritise, think and solve problems on a day-to-day basis.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- NSW Local/State Government experience is desirable
