We're looking for an Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician, either experienced or semi experienced, to join our central fabrication team: a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in high-quality fabrication and enjoys mentoring others. You'll work closely with our team to keep Massons CFAB services running smoothly for customers across Australia and New Zealand, with growing reach into the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Massons CFAB Centre of Excellence
Our state-of-the-art workshop blends traditional manufacturing with advanced technology: 7-axis robots, HP Multi Jet Fusion and FDM 3D printers, alongside the plaster, molding, and finishing processes at the heart of O&P fabrication. It's a genuine opportunity to work across both craft and cutting-edge technology in a well-resourced, modern facility.
The Role
As a O&P Technician, you'll fabricate custom orthotic and prosthetic devices using traditional techniques and CAD/CAM systems, mentor junior technicians (if experienced), and provide technical support to clinicians and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom orthotic and prosthetic devices, including laminated and thermoplastic builds
- Work with composite materials and epoxy resin lamination to produce strong, lightweight devices
- Collaborate with our 3D print team to incorporate HP MJF and FDM 3D printing into advanced fabrication processes
- Mentor and support early career technicians, including leading technique training as required
- Work with other Senior Technicians and the Operations Manager to maintain workshop standards and troubleshoot issues
- Provide technical support to clinicians, staff, and customers
About You
- Experience in orthotic and prosthetic fabrication (central fab or a high-volume workshop)
- Practical knowledge across a range of materials, processes, and techniques, with strong attention to detail and finishing
- Sound working knowledge of hand tools and workshop machinery
- Experience in both prosthetic and orthotic fabrication techniques
- CAD/CAM experience is an advantage but not essential
- Comfortable working independently and within a small technical team
- Strong communicator with a solutions-focused approach
- Committed to workplace safety
Growth Opportunities
For the right candidate, there's scope to grow into a leadership role as the working relationship develops.
