About the Role:
The Women and Children Division within North Canberra Hospital primarily provides maternity and gynecology services to consumers residing in the ACT and surrounding region. Staff working in the in-patient ward (3S) provide care for antenatal and postnatal women and birthing people, and newborns, as well as for women recovering from general surgery or those that require a hospital admission for medical treatment.
Registered Midwives work within the multidisciplinary team that includes Registered Nurses, Medical Officers, Allied Health Professionals and Hospital Support Staff.
Level 1 RMs are employed on all shifts and contribute to the provision of skilled midwifery care that promotes best clinical outcomes for consumers. The Level 1 RM reports to the Level 2 Registered Midwife.

Note: These are temporary positions available for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to less than 12 months and/or permanency. Some positions are part-time, with hours to be negotiated, and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata.
A merit pool may be established from this recruitment process and will be used for the next 12 months to fill various positions both on a temporary and permanent basis with full-time and part-time opportunities available.
