Venues NSW is a commerically focused agency of the NSW Government, encompassing the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium as well as major sporting and cultural stadiums and precincts in Sydney, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong. The network of stadiums and entertainment centres host in excess of 5 million people a year at more than 500 events and is a key contributor to the economy.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Capital Works Manager to lead the delivery of infrastructure and capital works projects across our venue portfolio.
Reporting to the Group General Manager – Infrastructure Development, you will oversee a team of Project Managers and manage external project resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality. You will provide leadership across project planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, contract management, risk management and financial reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a high-performing project delivery team.
- Overseeing the delivery of capital works projects from planning through to completion.
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting project governance, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Providing oversight of contracts (generally GC21 and MW21), commercial performance, budgets and project risks.
- Ensuring construction activities are effectively coordinated with venue operations and event schedules.
ABOUT YOU
You are a collaborative and results-driven leader with significant experience delivering capital works or infrastructure projects in complex operational environments.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience managing capital works, construction, or infrastructure projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing project teams and external consultants.
- Strong contract, commercial, and financial management skills.
- Experience in project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Property, or a related discipline.
