As Facility Officer, you will play an important hands-on role in keeping the site safe, welcoming and well presented for visitors through gardening, maintenance, cleaning and operational support. The Facility Officer provides support across general gardening, maintenance and cleaning services for the Prison to ensure it is safe and well presented to visitors and the general public.
As the Facility Officer you are responsible for supporting contractor visits to site, equipment management, stocks and supplies, supporting visitor services including setting up for functions and events, garden planting programs and other initiatives. Another important part of the role is to supervise cleaners, security and other external contractors, as required, while maintaining WHS requirements on site.
This is pool recruitment process for permanent full-time, and fixed term full-time opportunities. This pool may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.
To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate the position requirements, below:
- Experience in all aspects of facility maintenance.
- Ability to understand and apply governance requirements (eg. legislation, policies and procedures).
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office with the ability to adapt and learn new technologies.
- Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context of Leading Others as outlined below.
Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Leading Others. Leading Others context is about motivating and enabling others to deliver high quality work that contributes to the agency. Special requirements:
- Workers must have a baseline hearing test within twelve (12) months of commencing employment and each year thereafter.
- Required to pass a medical assessment for Tunnels access.
- Possession of (or willingness to obtain) a current Senior First Aid Certificate.
- Availability and willingness to work times outside normal business hours, including morning, afternoon and weekend shifts in a range of weather conditions.
