Join us in shaping healthier futures. Together we can do more.
As a Registered Nurse within the Cardiology Ward (C6W) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Wollongong Hospital, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse cohort of acute and complex cardiac patients. You will be responsible for the assessment, monitoring and management of conditions such as acute coronary syndromes, heart failure, arrhythmias and post-procedural care, utilising strong clinical judgement and working effectively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
A key feature of this role is the opportunity to work across both the Cardiology Ward (C6W) and the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). This rotational approach supports the development of a broad and advanced cardiology skill set, allowing you to build confidence and capability across different levels of patient acuity. Nurses are well supported as they progress, with structured education packages, ongoing clinical training, and guidance from experienced senior staff, including CNCs and CNEs.
Cardiology services at Wollongong Hospital are uniquely co-located, with the Cardiology Ward (C6W), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Cardiac Diagnostic Unit (CDC) and Illawarra Heart Health all working closely together. This integrated model fosters a collaborative, team-based approach to care and provides exposure across the full continuum of cardiology services, from acute inpatient care through to diagnostics and outpatient management.
This role offers excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression. With a strong focus on education, mentorship and clinical support, you will be encouraged to advance your skills and pursue pathways into senior or specialist roles within cardiology."
