Good Mates Only Melbourne is looking for outgoing, friendly legends to join our team of event hosts.
Good Mates Only is a members-only social club for guys who want to make more mates and do genuinely fun stuff around Melbourne.
We organise the plans blokes always talk about doing but never actually lock in—from paintball, laser tag and go-karting to rock climbing, axe throwing, comedy, pub nights and games nights.
THE ROLE
You’ll be the friendly face members look for when they arrive, especially those turning up alone or attending their first event.
This isn’t about standing on a stage or delivering formal speeches. It’s about making everyone feel welcome, helping conversations get started and creating the kind of relaxed environment where new friendships happen naturally.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Welcome members and check them in
- Introduce people and help everyone settle in
- Keep the energy social, friendly and inclusive
- Make sure nobody is left awkwardly standing alone
- Share a quick event wrap with our team afterward
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’re friendly, confident and naturally good with people. You can walk into a room, start a conversation and help different personalities feel included without making it awkward.
You’ll also be reliable, organised and comfortable taking the lead when needed.
Experience in events, hospitality, sport, community work or customer-facing roles is helpful, but it isn’t essential. Your personality, reliability and ability to make people feel welcome matter most.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a flexible, paid freelance role based in Melbourne.
Events generally take place during evenings and weekends, and you can put yourself forward for the dates that suit your schedule. Events and hours aren’t guaranteed.
You’ll get out around Melbourne, try some brilliant experiences, meet heaps of good people and play an important part in helping guys build genuine friendships—especially those taking the leap and turning up alone.

Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and be able to travel to venues across Melbourne. Will need to be 18+ to work as a host.
