The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Leading Hand (Afternoon Shift) to join our manufacturing team in Ingleburn, NSW.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating afternoon workshop operations, leading Production Technicians, supporting dispatch activities and ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys working on the floor, mentoring teams and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support Production Technicians throughout the afternoon shift

Coordinate daily workshop activities to meet production schedules

Set up production machinery and approve first-off samples

Conduct daily toolbox meetings and communicate production priorities

Promote safe work practices and ensure PPE compliance

Identify and report hazards, incidents and unsafe conditions

Support LEAN manufacturing and 5S continuous improvement initiatives
-
Receive and check incoming deliveries during the afternoon shift
-
Coordinate outbound truck loading and dispatch activities
-
Operate forklifts safely to move raw materials and finished products
-
Assist with stock movements and workshop material handling
-
Work closely with supervisors to maximise productivity and quality
About You
You will be an experienced manufacturing professional with well-developed leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced production environment.
Ideally, you will have:

Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment

Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Team Leader or Supervisor

Current LF Forklift Licence (essential)

Experience with machine setup and production operations
-
Strong understanding of workshop safety and quality standards
-
Experience coordinating dispatch or warehouse activities (desirable)
-
Exposure to LEAN Manufacturing or 5S methodologies (preferred)

Excellent communication and organisational skills
-
A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
-
A trade qualification while advantageous is not essential.
