Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer with 9+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or SRE. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Linux, automation, observability, and production support within highly regulated environments.
Must Have
- 9+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or SRE.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and RDS/Aurora.
- Strong expertise in GitLab SaaS, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and release orchestration.
- Experience with Terraform and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Strong Linux administration and scripting skills using Bash/Python.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production systems in highly regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of deployment strategies, change management, environment management, and release governance.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, observability, and incident management capabilities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application, database, infrastructure, and networking layers.
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively across Engineering, QA, Operations, Security, and Architecture teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Calypso or capital markets trading, clearing, collateral, or risk systems.
- Experience with Oracle-to-Aurora PostgreSQL migrations.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Exposure to OpenTelemetry, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or enterprise observability platforms.
- Experience with Liquibase, database automation, schema migrations, and configuration management.
- Knowledge of financial services, exchange infrastructure, or regulated technology environments.
- Exposure to test automation frameworks and DevOps-driven Quality Engineering practices.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
- Experience supporting large-scale cloud transformation and platform modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS cloud and platform infrastructure.
- Build and manage robust CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
- Support highly available and mission-critical production environments.
- Implement and enhance monitoring, logging, observability, and incident response capabilities.
- Drive secure secrets management and cloud security best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, databases, infrastructure, and networking.
- Partner with Engineering, QA, Security, Operations, and Architecture teams to deliver reliable technology solutions.
- Support cloud transformation, platform modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay: From $120,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sydney NSW
