We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst for an initial 12 month contract to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering platform initiatives across regulatory change, tax obligations, fraud detection and scams prevention. In this role, you will lead the analysis of business requirements, translating legislative, regulatory, operational and risk considerations into clear, actionable outcomes that strengthen platform controls, protect clients and support compliant, efficient delivery. Working across business, technology, risk, compliance, operations, product and UX teams, you will help define solutions that improve detection capability, reduce customer and adviser friction, and ensure our platform continues to meet evolving regulatory and market expectations. This is an opportunity to operate as a trusted advisor, influencing delivery priorities and contributing to meaningful outcomes that protect clients, strengthen trust and enhance the resilience of our platform.
Key Responsibilities:

Elicit, analyse and document functional and non-functional requirements, including user stories, control requirements, audit considerations and reporting needs
Define current and future state processes, workflows, integrations and data requirements across regulatory reporting, tax processing, fraud monitoring and scam prevention journeys
Own the end-to-end requirements lifecycle, including prioritisation, validation, and stakeholder sign-off
Ensure alignment between business needs, product strategy, regulatory obligations, risk appetite and delivery outcomes
Partner with stakeholders across business, technology, and UX to shape backlogs and delivery priorities
Partner with risk, compliance, financial crime, tax, operations and technology stakeholders to understand obligations, pain points, control gaps and solution options
Support the design of detection, prevention and monitoring capabilities, including business rules, exception handling, alerting, case management and evidence requirements
Translate complex regulatory and tax changes into practical delivery requirements that support compliant implementation and operational readiness
Facilitate workshops, refinement sessions, and stakeholder alignment forums
Actively participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to delivery cadence
Build strong stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted advisor bridging business and technology
Drive continuous improvement, uplift analysis practices, and mentor junior analysts
What you will bring:
5+ years’ experience in senior business analyst roles, ideally supporting regulatory, risk, tax or financial crime initiatives
Proven experience working in agile delivery environments
Strong experience in requirements documentation including user stories, process models, and data flows
Financial services experience across superannuation, investments, wealth platforms, regulatory change, tax, fraud detection or scams prevention highly regarded
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Miro
Understanding of platform architectures, APIs, integrations, data flows, control frameworks and operational risk environments desirable
Experience working with regulatory obligations, tax processes, scam controls, fraud monitoring, transaction data, alerts, exceptions or case management processes would be highly valued
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a highly organised approach
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills
A growth mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering best practice
