The Electrical Safety Office (ESO) is seeking applications from candidates for the Rockhampton region of Queensland.
The Senior Electrical Safety Inspector is a mobile, field-based position with inspectors located throughout the state. These inspectors deliver the Electrical Safety Office's (ESO) statewide compliance and engagement program, respond to complaints and incidents, and collaborate with industry and others to improve capabilities to manage electrical safety risks. Inspectors work across the entire breadth of the electrical industry, in the electrical equipment supply chain, in other high-risk industries (e.g. construction, agriculture, and manufacturing), and in nonworkplace environments.
A current Queensland electrical work license is desirable.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret, apply and elementise legislation in a regulatory capacity.
- Write reports of incidents and complaints.
- Identify and enforce breaches of legislation.
- Participate in the targeted auditing and engagement program to monitor and assess compliance with Electrical Safety legislation.
- Investigate electrical incidents and complaints.
- Provide technical advice to investigations teams.
- Prepare and review disciplinary action referrals for the independent Electrical
Licensing Committee.
