About the Hearing Health Team:
Hearing Health Team provides hearing health screening, plus health education, to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 4 to 18 years with a focus on Preschool, Grades 1, 2, 3 and Grade 6. Screening occurs at locations within the immediate Townsville area and provides professional support services throughout the whole of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Salary range: $101,511 to $119,674 p.a. (HWF4)
4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity:
Provide a range of hearing health services (working within a delegated Model of Care) to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children within the service area.
To participate in the delivery of culturally effective services consistent with core business with a specific focus on hearing screening, competency-based training programs, and health education services.
The Senior Health Worker operationally manages the Health Worker team working in a collaborative practice model with the Clinical Nurse.
Requirements:
Diploma in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
Possession of class C drivers' licence.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
Probation period may apply.
