The APAC Security team designs, implements, and supports physical security systems across Vantage Data Centers throughout the region. Working closely with internal teams and industry partners, we deliver secure, scalable, and standardized solutions that support our rapidly growing portfolio of data centers.
The Security Systems Programmer, APAC is responsible for the administration, programming, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Vantage Data Centers' physical security systems throughout the APAC region. This position serves as the technical lead for physical security platforms, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, standardised, and aligned with Vantage operational requirements.
The role works closely with Security Operations, Design & Deployment, Construction, Commissioning teams, and external vendors to deliver and support enterprise-scale access control, video surveillance, biometric, key management, and integrated security solutions.
Security Systems Administration & Support
Administer and maintain physical security platforms across all APAC facilities.
Perform system updates, patch management, firmware upgrades, password management, and platform hardening in accordance with Vantage cybersecurity standards.
Monitor system health, performance, and availability to ensure operational continuity.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex hardware, software, networking, and integration issues.
Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Participate in the regional on-call support rotation.
Respond, as needed, when system maintenance or complications arise.
Maintain accurate system documentation, asset records, configurations, and change management records.
Develop standard operating procedures.
Other duties may be assigned from time-to-time by management.
Security Systems Programming & Standardisation
Develop, configure, and maintain security system programming in accordance with Vantage standards.
Drive initiatives that improve regional consistency, efficiency, scalability, and system reliability.
Create and maintain programming templates, naming conventions, configuration standards, and deployment procedures.
Maintain and enhance integrations with approved third-party systems and applications.
Ensure all configurations comply with internal security standards and operational requirements.
Project Delivery & Commissioning
Lead security system programming activities for new data center developments, expansions, upgrades, and retrofit projects.
Review design documentation and programming matrix to ensure compliance with Vantage standards.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors throughout deployment and commissioning activities.
Perform system testing, validation, and acceptance activities during commissioning and handover phases.
Ensure all system documentation, credentials, backups, and operational records are complete prior to project closeout.
Vendor Management & Team Collaboration
Coordinate and oversee vendor activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and established procedures.
Work closely with approved technology partners and manufacturers to resolve technical issues and implement improvements.
Provide regular status updates to APAC Security Systems Management on operational performance, project progress, risks, and regional needs.
Foster a collaborative team environment through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous professional development.
Genetec Security Center Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Genetec Security Center environments.
Configure and maintain Synergis Access Control, Omnicast Video Management, Mission Control, and associated modules.
Program Cloudlink appliances, access control panels, reader interfaces, and input/output devices.
Configure doors, cardholders, access levels, schedules, macros, reports, custom fields, alarms, and automation workflows.
Install, configure, and maintain video archivers, recording servers, cameras, and edge devices.
Configure Active Directory integrations, user roles, and permissions.
Create and maintain maps, dashboards, and operational monitoring tools.
Configure mustering, incident workflows, and standard operating procedures.
Support integrations with Traka, IDEMIA, and other approved VDC platforms.
Coordinate with Genetec Technical Support and Professional Services as required.
Ensure all entity naming follows Vantage naming standards.
Produce programming documentation, change records, and commissioning reports.
Traka Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
Install, configure, and maintain Traka key management systems.
Configure Integration Engine services and Genetec integrations.
Manage iFob enrolment, permissions, and system administration.
Coordinate with Traka Professional Services for advanced troubleshooting and project implementation.
Maintain system health, backups, upgrades, and documentation.
IDEMIA Biometric Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
Install, configure, and maintain biometric enrolment and authentication platforms.
Configure integrations between IDEMIA solutions and Genetec Security Center.
Perform commissioning, testing, and operational validation.
Support ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and administration.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Security Systems, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience administering enterprise-scale physical security systems.
5+ years of experience with Genetec Security Center, access control, and video management systems.
Advanced understanding of IP networking, system architecture, and integrated security technologies.
Experience supporting enterprise or multi-site environments.
Experience with Traka, IDEMIA, Axis Intercom, and related integrated technologies.
Experience within critical infrastructure, data centers, or highly regulated environments strongly preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
Willingness to travel throughout APAC as required, typically less than 25%.
