Are you an empathetic, resilient, and dedicated support worker looking to make a genuine difference? We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care for a client residing in Kallangur.
Shift Availability
We are looking to fill the following initial roster, with the potential to transition into an ongoing Monday-to-Friday role for the right candidate:
About the Role
In this role, you will provide critical emotional and practical support to a client with a history of complex trauma and sexual abuse. This position requires a high level of emotional intelligence, strong boundaries, and a deep understanding of mental health support.
Please Note: This is a strictly smoke-free environment (no smoking permitted at all). The client also has a beloved pet dog, so you must be comfortable working around animals.
Key Responsibilities
Providing safe, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed mental health support.
Assisting with daily routines and community access during shift hours.
Building a trusting, consistent, and empowering relationship with the client.
Transporting the client to appointments or community activities as required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
Experience: Proven experience in mental health support, complex trauma, or a similar field.
Licence: Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
Transport: Reliable, insured personal vehicle.
Qualifications: Relevant certificates in Mental Health, Community Services, or Individual Support are highly regarded.
Attributes: Patient, resilient, reliable, and an excellent communicator.
