The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration, and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey.
As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner - Refuge, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, safe, and effective support to individuals and families experiencing family violence. You will deliver trauma-informed responses that promote safety, recovery, and positive outcomes for both adults and children.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent full-time position. The role is based out of the Coburg North office, VIC, with daily service delivery primarily conducted offsite at the refuge location.
Compensation is in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 5.
How you will make an impact

Build strong relationships with clients that support self-determination and follow the National Family Violence Model of Care

Provide specialist case management and crisis support with ongoing assessment and collaborative planning that is led by the victim survivor

Support access to holistic services advocate when required and ensure progress is monitored for those in refuge or transitional accommodation

Work closely with specialist practitioners housing teams and external services to maintain consistent support and meet accommodation guidelines

Maintain accurate records identify risks or service gaps and meet key performance indicators according to organisational requirements
