Agouza School Systems is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage, maintain, and secure our regional network and server infrastructure across our educational facilities. Operating out of our central Perth office, you will be the core technical resource responsible for ensuring high availability, network performance, and data security for our staff and student platforms.
Scope of Work:
- Managing and configuring local and cloud-based server environments, including Active Directory, group policies, and identity access management.
- Overseeing the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of core network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points.
- Implementing and monitoring automated system backups, storage allocation (NAS/SAN), and disaster recovery protocols to ensure business continuity.
- Auditing system security logs, vulnerability scans, and access permissions to safeguard sensitive student and administrative data.
- Collaborating with external vendors and internal stakeholders to scope, test, and implement hardware upgrades and campus-wide software deployments.
Candidate Requirements:
- Infrastructure Background: 3+ years of hands-on experience managing network infrastructure and server environments, ideally within an educational, institutional, or multi-site corporate setting.
- Technical Stack: Deep practical knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization technologies (Hyper-V or VMware), and core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Security Focus: Direct experience configuring firewalls, managing endpoint security, and implementing backup strategies.
- Problem-Solving: A systematic approach to diagnosing complex network outages, hardware failures, and system bottlenecks under minimal supervision.
- Legal Status: Full, unrestricted legal working rights within Australia are mandatory for this permanent position in Perth.
