About Animal Aid:
Animal Aid is a not for profit organisation dedicated to ending animal homelessness and providing a first rate second chance. Each year, we welcome and rehome around 6,000 lost, stray and surrendered animals through our shelter and veterinary services.
Our Veterinary Clinic is truly unique. We operate two clinics under one roof: A busy private clinic providing high quality veterinary services to privately owned animals and a welfare clinic delivering essential treatment to animals in our shelter.
While the clinics operate independently, there is strong collaboration and shared knowledge across both teams. Despite our growth, we maintain a close knit, supportive culture where everyone feels part of one team working towards the same mission.
Our facilities include a recently renovated shelter, on site boarding and grooming services. We primarily see dogs and cats, with occasional pocket pets, exotics and small ruminants.
About the role:
This role will primarily be based in our private clinic, with opportunities to contribute to welfare work within the shelter. It is an opportunity to combine high quality clinical practice with meaningful impact in animal welfare. We are seeking a veterinarian with a minimum of two years’ clinical experience who is confident, collaborative and motivated to continue developing their skills.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Deliver a high standard of medical and surgical care to both private and welfare patients
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues
- Enjoy working within a supportive team environment
- Provide guidance to less experienced staff where appropriate
- Manage caseload independently and prioritise effectively
- Adapt to the varied pace and demands of both private and shelter practice
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth
What we offer:
- Flexible working arrangements to support genuine work life balance
- Remuneration above award, commensurate with experience
- In house mentoring and clinical support from experienced senior veterinarians
- A warm, collaborative workplace culture
- The opportunity to contribute directly to reducing animal homelessness in our community
If you are looking for a role where your skills will be valued and your work will have real community impact, we would love to hear from you. To apply, please send your CV and cover letter to [email protected]. In your application, let us know your preferred days and hours of availability.
