Chef / Cook – Full Time or Part Time
Minato Sushi Snackbar is a modern Japanese takeaway and dine-in concept focused on fresh food, great service, and a fun team culture. We serve freshly made sushi, rice bowls, hot meals, and grab-and-go options in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef/Cook to join our growing team.
About the Role
As a Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to our quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen. You will work closely with the team to deliver a great customer experience through fresh, consistent, and well-presented food.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation and daily kitchen operations
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
- Follow FIFO procedures and food safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Support a positive team culture and workplace environment
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef preferred
- Experience in Japanese cuisine is an advantage but not essential
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable, punctual, and team-focused
