ABOUT THE POSITION

TLEA is welcoming applications for a full time, Max term Senior Designer Structural, Mechanical & Piping to join our team working at our Kwinana plant.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing owner-side drafting and design support by preparing, revising and maintaining structural, mechanical, piping and process drawings and associated documentation for refinery operations, plant modifications and capital projects as required. The role requires strong SMP design and drafting knowledge to independently interpret approved engineering inputs, vendor information and site conditions, identify and resolve drawing and interface issues, and maintain clear, coordinated and reliable master drawings, P&IDs, 3D plant models, engineering registers and as-built engineering records.
In addition to possessing our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this position will suit an individual with previous experience in structural, mechanical and piping design, preferably within Brownfield environments and Operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide owner-side SMP drafting and design support for refinery operations, plant modifications and capital projects as required.
Prepare, revise and maintain P&IDs, structural, mechanical, piping, equipment layout and associated engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Plant 3D and other nominated design systems.
Incorporate approved engineering mark-ups, vendor information, site redlines and as-built information into controlled drawings, models and associated records.
Conduct site verification as required to confirm existing equipment, piping, structures, plant layouts and installation details.
Prepare, update and coordinate SMP layouts within multidisciplinary 3D plant models, including model integration, clash/interface review and use of laser scan or point cloud information where applicable.
Maintain relevant drawing registers, equipment and line lists, document numbering and revision status based on approved engineering information, and provide current drawing and document inputs to project scopes of work and deliverable lists.
Review consultant, vendor and supplier drawings for compliance with TLK drafting standards, drawing numbering, document requirements and drawing/model interface consistency, and incorporate approved information into controlled plant drawings and models.
Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies, missing information and discipline interface issues in coordination with the relevant engineer.
Check drawings, models and associated documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance with drafting and document control requirements.
Provide practical drafting and design guidance to other team members where required and support the maintenance of accurate master drawings, P&IDs and as-built engineering records.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Engineering Drafting or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Minimum 8 years’ relevant structural, mechanical and/or piping drafting or design experience within an industrial, processing, mining, chemical, energy or heavy industry environment.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Plant 3D, with demonstrated experience independently preparing, revising and checking P&IDs, structural, mechanical, piping, equipment layout and associated engineering drawings.
Strong ability to interpret engineering mark-ups, P&IDs, vendor drawings, equipment and piping information, structural information and existing plant drawings, and incorporate site verification information into master and as-built drawings.
Demonstrated experience in brownfield plant modifications, multidisciplinary coordination, drawing and document registers, and preparation and maintenance of engineering drawings within an operating plant or project environment.
Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing and coordinating multidisciplinary 3D plant models, including equipment, piping and structural layouts, model integration and clash/interface review; proficiency in Navisworks and experience reviewing and interrogating 3D laser scan or point cloud data is required.

Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth central business district, 20 km from City of Fremantle and just 7km from Rockingham.
