Are you a relationship-driven business development professional who enjoys getting out into the market, building meaningful connections and creating growth opportunities?
We're looking for a Business Development Manager to drive member retention and growth across Western Australia. In this highly visible role, you'll represent Avant across the healthcare sector, working closely with medical practices, hospitals, colleges, associations and key industry stakeholders.
You'll have the opportunity to build a strong presence in the market, develop valuable professional networks, and identify new opportunities that support the growth of Avant's products and services. This role combines relationship management, sales, strategic stakeholder engagement and market development, making it ideal for someone who enjoys influencing outcomes and being at the centre of industry conversations.

Key Accountabilities
Drive growth and business development
- Achieve sales, retention and growth targets across your allocated territory.
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across Avant's products and services.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and relationship-building activities.
- Identify cross-sell opportunities and support long-term member growth.
Build strong market relationships
- Develop and maintain relationships with medical practices, hospitals, colleges, societies, associations and other key stakeholders.
- Establish trusted relationships with senior leaders, CEOs, Board members and decision-makers across the healthcare sector.
- Grow Avant's profile and presence within targeted specialties and market segments.
Represent Avant in the market
- Act as an ambassador for the Avant brand across Western Australia.
- Attend industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to strengthen market presence and generate new opportunities.
- Support the planning and delivery of local events and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Provide market insights and influence strategy
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
- Share insights and recommendations that support growth, retention and business development strategies.
- Adapt local activity plans in response to changing market conditions and opportunities.
Contribute to team success
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the Growth and Business Development teams.
- Share knowledge, market intelligence and best practice.
- Contribute to a positive, high-performing and customer-focused culture.
Key Capabilities
- Proven success in business development, sales, account management or membership growth.
- Experience within medical, healthcare, insurance, pharmaceutical, professional services or financial services environments.
- Understanding of the medical industry and/or insurance sector will be highly regarded.
- Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage decision-makers.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver growth outcomes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with confidence engaging a wide range of audiences.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and stakeholder relationships.
- Self-motivated, organised and proactive, with a track record of achieving results.
