About the Opportunity
As the Data Performance Analyst for Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you’ll be responsible for developing data models, identifying reporting pain points and automating reporting processes.
You will support the operational effectiveness of the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA), particularly within the LCH (Landing Craft Heavy) program, by driving efficiencies, reducing manual effort, and improving data quality and process flows.
This role contributes to building the SSA business architecture through analysis of current data structures, data modelling, and process mapping. You will identify improvement opportunities and deliver practical, data-driven solutions.
You will also support the Performance Measurement Process and assist the LCH team in meeting contractual obligations, including CSR submissions.

What’s Involved
- Develop and optimise data models by analysing business systems, mapping data flows, and structuring data to support business needs

Design and enhance reporting solutions (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), including automating manual processes and improving existing models

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop process maps, and support contractual reporting

Support Contract Status Reviews and performance measurement activities aligned to SSA requirements

Conduct business and performance reviews, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and partnering with leaders to drive improvements

Support business readiness, transition, and continuous improvement by ensuring solutions are effectively implemented and embedded
You’ll Need
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools

Strong Excel capability, including Power Query

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, Project, Word)

Experience in process improvement and/or automation

Understanding of project management principles and delivery approaches

Exposure to enterprise systems such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, IFS, SAP, Oracle, or similar

Working knowledge of SQL, M Language, or other data transformation tools

Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
