About the Role
In this role you will support the existing payroll team to process up to approx. 1,700 employees with fortnightly pay cycles which is a combination of manual and electronic processing. You will need to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and have previous experience in interpreting awards and agreements.
Responsibilities
- Assisting fortnightly pay runs on a timely basis in accordance with the relevant industrial instruments
- Assists end to end processing for both permanent and casual employees on EA and Common Law contracts
- Manage a broad range of payroll and employee queries and requests in a timely manner while demonstrating expectational customer service
- Facilitates the processing of new hires and terminations
- Provides assistance with the calculations for tax, deductions, superannuation, Centrelink and Work Cover payments
- Supports the delivery of fortnightly payroll reports
- Contributes towards resolving complex enquiries, calculations and adjustments
- Prepare certificates of service and separation certificates
- Maintain accurate and up to date employee records and HRIS systems (Dayforce)
- Partner with the HR admin team regarding Dayforce records and employee concerns
- Supports HR admin processing as required
Skills and Requirements
- Experience with payroll, roster & HR systems
- Health or aged care payroll experience (ideally 1-3 years of experience)
- Experience in dealing with payroll enquiries
- Good understanding of payroll processes and legislation
- Attention to detail
- Organized
- Reliable
- Current police check (or willing to obtain)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficient with Microsoft suite and HRIS System (Dayforce)- desirable
- Qualifications in Payroll, HR, Finance or similar - desirable
