What You'll Be Doing
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact — on your own schedule. As our Coding Auditor, you'll share your expertise when it suits you, helping sharpen the skills of our clinical coding team through targeted education, insightful audits, and close collaboration with external clients.
Beyond auditing, you'll also have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and assist with hands-on clinical coding during your spare time — a great way to stay sharp, stay connected to the work, and contribute even more to the team's success.
You'll be the go-to person for coding excellence — mentoring and motivating our team, guiding us toward audit success, and drawing on your deep knowledge of Australian Coding Standards to keep our department performing at its best. You'll report to our Clinical Coding Manager (based in Melbourne) and work alongside a talented, tight-knit group in a bright and collaborative environment.
This is the kind of role where your knowledge and experience will be truly valued — and where you can contribute meaningfully without it taking over your life.
What You'll Bring
-
Several years' hands-on experience with Australian Coding Standards (ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS)
- A recognised clinical coding/auditing qualification through HIMAA, La Trobe, or equivalent
- Experience in coding education and audit, ideally within a tertiary hospital setting
- Confidence using 3M CodeFinder, with solid knowledge of casemix and clinical coding
- Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle priorities to meet KPIs and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of engaging effectively with external stakeholders
- A sharp eye for detail and a naturally organised approach to your work
