Basketball Star Academy is looking for an experienced and reliable Basketball Coach to join our school-based after-school basketball programs.
We are looking for someone who has previous experience coaching junior basketball players, preferably in a school program or similar kids’ sports environment. The ideal candidate will be confident working with primary school-aged children, able to manage groups, deliver structured and fun basketball sessions, and create a positive learning environment for all players.
The role will involve coaching children of different skill levels, helping them improve their basketball fundamentals, teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver fun, safe, and structured basketball sessions for junior players
- Coach basic basketball skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, defence, and teamwork
- Manage groups of children in a school environment
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, school staff, and the Basketball Star Academy team
- Support player development and encourage participation and confidence
- Arrive on time and be reliable for weekly sessions
Requirements:
- Previous experience coaching junior basketball players
- Experience coaching in a school program is highly preferred
- Confident working with children
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Reliable, professional, and well-presented
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and be able to drive to different school locations
- Working With Children Check required
- Basketball coaching accreditation is preferred but not essential
