Hourly Rate: $46.72 – $50.92 plus super

About Central West Libraries
Central West Libraries is a regional library service located across the Central Tablelands and Western Slopes of NSW. Established in 1958 the Library Service encompasses the Local Government areas of Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Weddin and Orange. The Library Service’s administrative units are located in the Orange City Library building. The Library service covers an area of 18,772 square km and serves a population of 91,857.
Position Details
In your role as Branch Library Officer, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of library services in the Blayney Branch.
- Provide high quality, customer focussed readers’ services including circulation duties, reference enquiries and participation in the delivery of programs and events
- Supervision and coordination of casual staff and volunteers
- Interacting with the wider community including Blayney Council to maximise the potential reach of library services
- Participate in the training and planning processes of service delivery
- Actively participate in the Library’s Strategic and Marketing Plans
So, what do you need?
- Qualifications as a Library Technician recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or equivalent
- Previous library experience engaging children with literature or industry experience in a relevant field.
- Well-developed communications, time management and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills.
- Digitally knowledgeable and proficient in using a wide variety of technology.
- Awareness and understanding of public libraries and their services.
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal records check and NSW Working with Children Check
