Top Choice People Pty Ltd are a family-owned poultry and meat wholesale business established in 1998. We are currently looking for an energetic Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our wonderful team at 497 Mountain Highway, Bayswater VIC.
The Mechanical Engineering Technician supports the design, installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within our factory. The role involves ensuring machinery and mechanical components operate efficiently, safely, and according to Australian standards and company procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and performance testing on machinery and mechanical components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and specifications.
- Support engineers in developing and improving mechanical systems and processes.
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with equipment calibration, quality checks, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
- Identify faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop cleanliness and safety standards.
Skills and Experience
- At least two years of relevant work experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician, Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, tools, and equipment maintenance is advantageous.
