Assistant Venue Manager
Four Hundred | Tilley & Wills Hospitality Group North Sydney
Full-time | Tuesday – Saturday
About Tilley & Wills
Tilley & Wills is one of Australia's most exciting independent hospitality groups, with a portfolio of venues spanning New South Wales, South Australia, and Queensland. From The Greenwood Hotel — one of Sydney's most iconic venues — to Aanuka Beach House on the NSW North Coast and Kent Town Hotel in Adelaide, we're a group that takes genuine pride in the spaces we create and the people we put in them.
We're not a faceless corporate operation. We're a team of passionate hospitality professionals who care deeply about the guest experience, the culture within our venues, and the career growth of the people who work with us. Four Hundred sits at the heart of our NSW portfolio and represents exactly what we stand for — bold concepts, high-quality experiences, and a team that loves what they do.
Joining Four Hundred means joining a group that's growing, that invests in its people, and that gives talented individuals the platform to do their best work.
The venue
Perched on the rooftop of Greenwood Plaza in the heart of North Sydney, Four Hundred is anything but ordinary. Think Tulum-inspired interiors, bold Mexican flavours, margaritas that pack a punch, and an energy that makes every guest feel like they're somewhere special. With two bars and four bespoke event spaces, we host everything from intimate corporate gatherings to all-out celebrations — and we do it with a whole lot of personality.
The role
We're on the hunt for an Assistant Venue Manager who brings genuine floor presence, a natural ability to lead a team, and a passion for functions that goes beyond just ticking boxes. As the 2IC to the Venue Manager, you'll be the heartbeat of day-to-day operations — keeping standards high, the team motivated, and the guest experience front and centre. Functions are a major part of what makes Four Hundred tick, and you'll own that space with confidence.
Day to day, you'll be:
-
Supporting the Venue Manager across all aspects of venue operations, stepping up as the senior decision-maker when they're not on the floor
-
Leading the floor during service — setting the tone, holding the standard, and bringing energy to every shift
-
Taking ownership of the functions pipeline from first enquiry through to final invoice, ensuring every event is executed flawlessly
-
Building genuine relationships with clients and becoming their trusted go-to for every celebration and corporate event
-
Collaborating with the venue and kitchen teams to design and deliver events that suit every taste and budget
-
Ensuring every space — from a 20-person cocktail function to a 200-person fiesta — runs seamlessly from start to finish
-
Supporting the development and day-to-day management of the floor team, including briefings, rostering, and performance
-
Proactively growing the functions business through repeat bookings, referrals, and smart upselling
What you bring
-
Proven experience in a senior supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality
-
Strong floor management skills — you lead by example and know how to get the best out of a team
-
Experience in functions, events, or hospitality coordination, with the confidence to own a room
-
Outstanding organisation skills and an eye for detail that doesn't miss a beat
-
Warm, confident communication — you're a natural with clients and just as good delivering a floor team brief
-
Composure under pressure — because busy nights and big functions rarely go 100% to plan, and you already know that
-
A genuine passion for hospitality and creating experiences people remember
The package
-
Tuesday to Saturday — enjoy your Sundays off!
-
Based at Four Hundred, Greenwood Plaza Rooftop, 36 Blue Street, North Sydney

A floor-focused leadership role with real scope to grow within the Tilley & Wills Hospitality Group
