Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our Petso team at our
Rhodes store. This role requires a passion for pets, excellent customer service, and a strong work ethic to support the day-to-day operations of a busy retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
- Learn and operate the POS system; process payments accurately (cash, card, digital).
- Handle refunds, exchanges, and transactions in line with company policy.
- Unpack, stock, and display products neatly and safely.
- Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and rotate products to maintain freshness.
- Check product expiry dates, condition, and presentation.
- Maintain store cleanliness and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
- Perform daily store procedures including opening and closing duties.
- Follow workplace health and safety guidelines.
- Work as part of a team to meet store goals and support management.
- Participate in ongoing product training and stay updated on new items.
- Assist with in-store marketing activities including product and store photo/video shoots.
- Be punctual, reliable, and uphold company standards at all times.

- Team player with the ability to also work independently.
- Basic numeracy and computer literacy.
- Willingness to learn about pet care and product knowledge.
- Physically fit to lift and move stock (up to 20kg).
Employment Conditions
- Part-time employment under the Retail Award.
