Our client, La Trattoria, is seeking an experienced full-time Chef to join its kitchen team in Adelaide, South Australia. The role involves preparing high-quality Italian cuisine, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting daily kitchen operations. The position offers an annual salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
Established in 1975, La Trattoria is one of Adelaide’s most iconic Italian restaurants, known for its authentic Italian food, traditional family recipes, and welcoming dining experience. The restaurant has built a strong reputation over generations for its quality cuisine and long-standing presence in Adelaide’s hospitality industry.
Key responsibilities:
· Planning Italian menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering kitchen supplies.
· Preparing and cooking a range of authentic Italian dishes.
· Monitoring the quality and presentation of meals during preparation and service.
· Discussing kitchen operations and food preparation with Managers and staff.
· Demonstrating cooking techniques and guiding kitchen staff on food preparation methods.
· Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
· Training and supervising kitchen staff where required.
· Managing food storage and stock rotation to maintain freshness.
· Assisting with seasonal menu updates and special Italian dishes.
· Coordinating kitchen operations to ensure timely food service.
· Checking ingredients and finished meals to maintain quality standards.
Qualifications:
· Must hold Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, along with a Diploma of Hospitality Management.
· Should have at least one (1) year of Australian experience as a professional Chef.
Note: Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
